· 8:30 to 9:30am: “How to Avoid Psychological Depressions Over Economic Ones,” by Dr Michael Edelstein Dr Edelstein is a clinical psychologist with an in-person and telephone/Skype therapy practice. He is the award-winning author of “Three Minute Therapy”. He also wrote “Stage Fright,” “Rational Drinking” and his latest, "Therapy Breakthrough." He trained with Dr. Albert Ellis and supervises mental health professionals in the REBT/ CBT treatment of emotional and behavioral problems. He lectures nationally and internationally, and has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows. Dr Edelstein teaches his clients how to be their own therapist.

· 10:00 to 10:20am: “Hayek’s Theory of Social Change,” by Matt Bufton Mr Bufton co-founded the Institute for Liberal Studies (ILS) in 2006 and has served as the Executive Director since 2010. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the ILS and handles administration, fundraising, strategic direction for the institute while planning and overseeing its activities across Canada. Mr Bufton is a graduate of both the Atlas Network’s MBA for Think Tank Management and its Think Tank Leadership Academy. He has spoken at conferences across Canada and the United States and served on the board of directors of Civitas from 2012-2016.

· 10:40 to 11:00am: “Why Most Libertarians are Not Famous or Filthy Rich,” by Mary Lou Gutscher Ms Gutscher first became an advocate for liberty with the Ontario and Canadian Libertarian Parties, and as co-founder of the Unparty (now called the Freedom Party). After leaving politics, she volunteered for 8 years as Director of World Conferences for the International Society for Individual Liberty (recently renamed Liberty International), and coordinated and taught at Liberty and Entrepreneurship Camps in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Central America. She was also a founding advisor with Peter Jaworski, of the Liberty Summer Seminars, which were the starting ventures of what is now the Institute for Liberal Studies. A serial entrepreneur, Ms Gutscher now operates as a Small Business Advisor in Edmonton, Alberta.
· 11:00 to 12:00pm: “There are Some Truths behind Stereotypes: Nothing is Wrong with Racism and Sexism,” by Dr Walter Block Dr Block is Harold E. Wirth Eminent Scholar Chair in Economics and Professor of Economics at Loyola University New Orleans and Senior Fellow with the Ludwig von Mises Institute, USA. He has written many books, best known among which is perhaps “Defending the Undefendable”. Others include: “Lexicon of Economic Thought”, “Economic Freedom of the World, 1975-1995”; “Rent Control: Myths and Realities”; “Discrimination, Affirmative Action, and Equal Opportunity”; “Theology, Third Word Development and Economic Justice”; “Man, Economy, and Liberty Essays in Honor of Murray N. Rothbard”; “Religion, Economics, and Social Thought; and Economic Freedom: Toward a Theory of Measurement.”
· 12:00 to 1:00pm: “Corporate Social Opportunity, not Corporate Social Responsibility,” by Rick Rule Mr Rule is one of the most successful investors anywhere. Mr Rule started his career working as a security guard at False Creek in Vancouver. He is currently the President and CEO of Sprott US Holdings Inc., one of the biggest and most successful money managers in the resource sector. He is a living proof of what he loves to say, “Your biggest problem is not the state and its tyranny, but what is between your two ears.” Mr Rule emphasizes that fulfillment comes from individual achievement, and that advances in the condition of mankind occur through voluntary rather than coercive exchanges.
